Bird Gard has developed ultrasonic, sonic and laser bird control products and pest control devices for commercial and industrial buildings. Birds like Pigeons, Swallows, Sparrows, Starlings, Indian Mynas and Crows are common pests in and around office buildings and warehouses. Animals like Rats, Mice and Possums can also be a problem. Bird Gard has engineered ultrasonic bird scarers which can’t be heard by human ears so they won’t disturb working environments. Since using the Bird Gard Laser I have been overwhelmed by the success I have achieved with it, a 98% success rate on the buildings that it has been used on. I have also recently installed the Bird Gard – Pigeon Gard on the roof of a 3 story building and have achieved 100% removal of feral pigeons from the area. Horticulture
Starting in the late 80s in our own Lychee orchards that were being decimated by Lorikeets, Flying foxes, Crows, other birds and possums, Bird Gard developed several electronic bird control devices and other products for the Australian & New Zealand horticultural industry. We specialise in bird scarers or electronic devices that emit the latest in sonic harassment technology and digital recordings of distressed and alarmed birds, along with the sounds made by their natural predators. These sounds are broadcast through high fidelity weather-resistant speakers and are used to repel most fruit eating birds and flying foxes. We know it works, as we got away with not netting for 15 years and reduced our losses to 2 to 3% compared to 50% before we developed the Bird Gard system. The scarers have been a huge success. Viticulture
There would hardly be a vineyard in Australia or New Zealand which doesn’t suffer losses to birds. The traditional shotgun is not up to the job. Netting is extremely expensive to buy, install, store and maintain. Even if you don’t want to admit that nets are not 100% effective, small birds like Silvereyes or Wax-eyes will fly through them and flocks of Starlings will weigh down nets to feed on the tops and sides as will Crows. Rosellas have even been known to make holes in nets. Virtually all commercially significant pest bird species can now be effectively controlled with our newest high tech frequencies and sounds at a fraction of the cost of netting. While we do not claim 100% effectiveness 100% of the time, many hundreds of vineyards have already had great success with Bird Gard bird scarers as they are a cost effective viticulture bird control tool. Agriculture
Bird Gard specialise in agricultural crop protection. We’ve developed bird control products that are proven to remove pest birds from small & large scale agriculture. Where Bird Gard comes into its own is with crops such as rice, vegetables, nuts, fruit and high value seed crops etc. The usual pest birds are Crows, Ducks, Cockatoos, Galahs and Starlings. We’ve developed products specifically for New Zealand seed growers who have huge issues Thrushes and Finches. In the above situations, the 360 degree surround sound devices such as Multi-Blaster, Super Pro X, Bird -X 1, Crop Gard and the most powerful of them all the “Pro Amp” are the devices most often used. They cover the entire area of crop under a blanket of protective sound. Any grower with a Duck or other water bird problem would do well with the Bird Gard Laser, which can be seen as a non-harmful, non-lethal replacement of the Shotgun.
Marina & Offshore
Bird Gard has a wide range of Marina & Offshore bird scarers and bird control products. Our marine bird control products are used to defend boats, yachts, fish farms, docks, harbours, marinas and other coastal and offshore infrastructure, just about anywhere there is a marine bird problem. Most of our products can be hooked up to a 12V battery so you can use them on boats & yachts etc where 240 power isn’t available. Below is a list of our Marina & Offshore bird scarers to repel Seagulls, Cormorants, Terns, Swallows and other birds. The boats around us have thanked us for solving their problem too as well, so it obviously it works over quite a large area. From a wildlife management perspective the mining industry is unique, as no other industry has such a diverse range of bird and animal problem scenarios. On our website we have defined bird and animal control into eight separate industry categories, for example Viticulture, Home and Garden and Mining etc. Unlike these other industries, mining infrastructure and staff can be at risk to birds and animals 24/7, 12 months of the year. Once a good food source, shelter or other attraction is found, birds and animals will simply remain permanently, attracting more of their kind in the process.
